Repair services during the COVID-19 pandemic: 4 ways you can protect your family and our employees during a Confort Expert service call

At Confort Expert, as residential air conditioning and heating contractors, we’re continuing to provide an essential service during the COVID-19 lockdown. To do so, we’ve implemented a number of sanitary measures in accordance with government recommendations. By taking precautions, we hope to ensure the safety of our employees and our valued customers. If one of our team members has an upcoming service call at your home, here’s what you can do to protect the health of your family and our employee.

  1. Let us know if there’s a risk in coming to your home. Before the scheduled visit, let us know if someone in your home has been diagnosed with COVID-19, is waiting for test results, has any of the symptoms associated with the virus or meets the Canadian government’s exposure criteria (such as having travelled to an affected area or had laboratory exposure to biological materials containing COVID-19).

  1. Limit interactions and keep a safe distance. If others live with you, ask them to stay together in a closed-off room that our technician won’t need to access during the service call. This way, you will be the only one person will need to interact with the technician. As recommended by health authorities, maintain a distance of at least 2 metres at all times,.

  1. Help our employee touch fewer surfaces. To reduce the risk of contamination on both sides (and the number of surfaces you have to disinfect after the visit), open all the doors and turn on all the light switches yourself, according to our technician’s needs. If you have to sign any documents, let the technician place them on a sanitized surface while you keep a safe distance, then use one of your own pens to sign it.

  1. Wear protective equipment if you’re immunocompromised. If you’re someone who’s at high risk for severe illness and you have to interact with our technician, wear a medical mask or cover your mouth and nose completely with a clean cloth. Additionally, wash your hands thoroughly before and after the interaction.

Do you have any questions or concerns about having a professional from our team visit your home? Don’t hesitate to call us. The air-conditioning and heating contractors at Confort Expert care a great deal about the well-being of our customers. During these difficult times, we’re doing everything we can to ensure that we provide the most efficient and safe repair services.
